Reviewed by Stefaniethe hidden diary of marie antoinette by carolly erickson

This book is Carolly Erikson’s retelling of the story of Marie Antoinette in the form of a journal.  The book starts out with Marie jailed on the night before her execution.  She writes about her condition, her worries for her children, and her husband.  She then proceeds to read her diary from many years ago, and that’s where the real story begins.  She begins as as thirteen year old girl with a childish nature, and slowly as the book progresses she becomes a strong young woman who is crowned queen far too soon.  Her life at court and her gradual downfall create a very addicting story with romance and thrills.

I would recommend this book to those who enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl.
