Daughter of Smoke and Bone is about a girl named Karou, who has a peculiar past filled with creatures straight out of myths; chimeras, demons, and angels.  Her life in the city of Prague is filled with art and going on errands for her chimera father.  Suddenly her childhood family is threatened when mysterious black prints are burned into their doors, and she is thrust into an old war between the angels and chimera.  As more and more mystery surrounds her chimera father, an angel by the name of Akiva starts to follow her, and everything she thought she knew about her life changes.

This book is filled with myths, magic, and a bit of romance.  I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.
